I have a short list of criteria I use to judge a restaurant by, and Flatbread nails them all:
delicious - check
cozy atmosphere - check
healthy/ organic - check
reasonably priced - check
local/ sustainable (which is rare) - CHECK!
Keeps me, my husband, our family and friends always coming back for more.

the food is realy good- pizzas are fresh and I enjoy the location and set up of the restaurant (great rustic decor too)
One several occaisions (more times YES than NO) however I have had to deal with a myriad of ill behaved children running round the restaurant.
While I understand and appeciate kid friendly ( I have a tween child of my own I bring there)- the manager really needs to speak up and let the families know kids misbehaving like this ISNT tolerated as the other guests dotn always appreciate rambunctious children. I mean it IS a restaurant- whatever happened to manners?!
Its a shame because I always have to think about that and if I feel like dealing with the crazy kid atmosphere before I decide to go there.
If it was toned down just a bit,I would attend much more often.The food is organically fabulous and staff is great too so they really need to re think the ground rules or kid friendly-=so everyone can enjoy the place.

Okay ,so my new motto is to like what I pay for and eat. SO at Flatbread they will keep you coming back for more...and more . I have three boys, and they are very family friendly. The servers are down to earth and very patient with little guys. The kids get a kick out of designing the menu cover ..so everyone can see their artwork. The price may seem a bit much but...hey you pay for what you get. And this place will not leave you hungry. I always try the daily specials. Also even though it is in Bedford the atmosphere is casual and laid back. Oh did I mention it is organic. The staff is top knotch...never had to ask for a thing...and they actually look as though they are having fun. SO just go and have fun! Enjoy!!!

The inspiration for the Flatbread Company was born in Vermont, but here it lives beside a busy highway, atop a giant patch of concrete, surrounded by an antiseptic office park. Yet inside, the restaurant that began in a former barn in the Green Mountains smells like a wood fire and kids pile on a long stone bench to watch the pizzas go into the dome-shaped oven. Rough granite obelisks rise from the floor.
