The highlight of this 2nd anniversary event will include a special salute to the six modern artists from Allston-Brighton that have loaned works of art to the museum. The local artists include: Noreen O'leary, Chung Shil Shim, Barbara Sawin, Richard Salvucci, Jennifer Smith and Julie Hom-Mandell.

Visitors will also be able to view the two exhibitions currently on display:

Brighton Transformed is a permanent exhibition that traces the historical themes that have contributed to the varied and rich history of Brighton and Allston, a neighborhood of Boston that represents a microcosm of our national experience. Included in the exhibition are historical photographs, artifacts, books, maps, signage, letters, portraits, interactive web-based stations, models, dioramas and historial ephemera.

Women of Vision is a temporary multi-media exhibition that illustrates the role of women in American life, as portrayed by the examples of 16 remarkable women and women’s organizations in Allston-Brighton over the past 250 years. Exhibition includes: original paintings, original photographs, textiles, decorative arts, historical settings, artifacts, signs, posters, books, documents, dioramas, ephemera, computer stations, slideshows, videos and interactive stations. One of the highlights of this exhibition is a working electronic voting booth in which visitors can actually vote on equality issues.

The museum is located at 20 Chestnut Hill Avenue in Brighton Center. Normal visiting hours are Tuesday-Friday and the 2nd and 4th Saturday from Noon to 4:00 PM.
