Trey McIntyre may be one of the biggest stars of today's dance world, but he's a country boy at heart. The Kansas-born choreographer chose Boise, Idaho, as the home base for his company the Trey McIntyre Project. The centerpiece of the troupe's Boston debut, "(serious)," was inspired by a dream McIntyre had about director/screenwriter Charlie Kaufman. Dancers Chanel DaSilva, Jason Hartley, and Brett Perry perform in the piece set to music by Henry Cowell. "Like a Samba," "Shape," and "The Sun Road" round out the program. - Milva DiDomizio, Globe Staff
He has created more than 80 works for companies ranging from Hubbard Street Dance to American Ballet Theatre, but Trey McIntyre's most persuasive canvas is his own new company, which makes its Boston debut with this mixed bill presented by World Music/CRASHarts. The program includes "(serious)," set to music by American iconoclast Henry Cowell, and the multimedia piece "The Sun Road." - Karen Campbell, Globe Correspondent
