Join us for the Nutfit Adventure Race, a technology-based citywide scavenger hunt loaded with physical and mental challenges requiring resourceful collaboration by partners. Teams of two will receive SMS text message clues directing them to locations around Boston, where they will be required to complete fun and challenging tasks before racing back to the finish line. Winners will receive a New England Patriots Prize pack for two (1st Place), Dinner & a $50 Gift Certificate to the Rattlesnake Bar & Grill (2nd Place), or a $100 Gift Certificate to Trader Joe’s (3rd place).
Half of all proceeds for the race will be donated to the HEART (Helping At-Risk Tenants) Program, a new homelessness prevention program developed by ABCD, Inc. to help families and children avoid crisis during the winter season, before they are at immediate risk for entering the overcrowded and overburdened state shelter system.
What: Nutfit Adventure Race: How well can you work with your partner? Teams of two receive five initial clues via SMS text message. Each clue leads to a specific FIT point (location). At each FIT point, teams will text message a response to the clue, complete a physical or mental task, take a picture, and receive one additional clue via SMS text message. Each Team will receive a total of 10 clues. Once all 10 clues are solved, teams will race back to the finish line.
When: Saturday, November 14, 2009 @ 12:00pm EST, lasting a maximum of six hours (until 6pm). Registration occurs from 10:30am to 11:30am.
Where: Rattlesnake Bar /384 Boylston St. / Boston, MA / 02116. Nutfit encourages all competitors to use public transportation when traveling to and from the Rattlesnake. There is also paid garage parking available at the Back Bay T-station.
Why: Fifty percent of proceeds will help families and children stay warm this winter as a donation to the HEART (Helping At-Risk Tenants) Program. The registration fee is $100 for couples and $80 for student couples.

With Community Housing Specialists in several Boston neighborhoods to provide individualized case management, HEART offers clients valuable resources such as access to affordable housing, financial literacy education, career counseling, landlord tenant mediation, and much more.
