Music by Stephen Paulus, Libretto by Colin Graham, William Lumpkin, conductor; Jim Petosa, stage director. An illicit affair between a drifter and a sultry waitress begins at a lonely roadside diner outside Los Angeles. The unsuspecting husband becomes the target of the perfect crime of passion, until betrayal and then fate intervene. Adapted from James Cain’s controversial 1934 novel, once banned in Boston. Performances run Feb 24-27. Presented by the BU College of Fine Arts.
