The 24th Annual Steppin’ Out for Dimock Gala has become a treasured Boston tradition and a signature event for The Dimock Center. The black tie benefit features,incredible food, dancing and great music from
internationally renowned and locally celebrated artists from the R&B, Jazz, Gospel, Latin, A Cappella, Swing and Big Band genres. The gala will take over two floors of the Westin Copley Place and coverts 5 ballrooms into famous Jazz Club’s from Boston’s past and present.
The Steppin’ Out 2011 line-up features: the legendary pop/gospel songstress, renowned for her
platinum-selling hit “Get Here”, Oleta Adams; the world famous Harlem Gospel Choir, America's premier gospel choir travels the globe to share its joy of faith; eight-time W.C. Handy “Best Blues Piano” award nominee, Henry Butler; the 13-piece Grammy-winning ensemble, Spanish Harlem Orchestra; and New Orleans’ own Glen David Andrews, an onstage blend of preacher and rock-star theatrics and a gumbo mix of gospel, funk, brass-band and R&B.
The evening will also feature, local legends, North Shore A Cappella; Ritmo Masacote a 12-piece Salsa/Timba/Latin Jazz Orchestra powerhouse; Mango Blue featuring an exciting mixture of Afro-Latin and World music and the Clayton DeWalt Brass Band will transport you across the world from the Big Easy to the Balkans with their high-energy precision, power and groove.
