And So We Sing: Many Voices, One Song

Five Boston area vocal groups come together to celebrate the power of song in “And So We Sing: Many Voices, One Song.” Sponsored by Urban Initiatives of the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division, the event is coordinated by tenor and choir director Samuel Martinborough of Mssng Lnks.

The concert features music from secular, sacred, gospel, and international traditions. Una Voce, the intergenerational chorus from the Community Music Center of Boston directed by Martinborough, sings… Show more repertoire spanning traditional, jazz, and world music. The Halalisa Singers, the celebrated world music ensemble under the direction of Mary Neumann, presents international selections. The Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association Chorus offers traditional and contemporary numbers from China. The Charles Street AME Gospel Choir sings rousing selections in the gospel tradition. Also appearing will be Vessels of Honor.

Each group will offer an individual performance, then come together for a powerful grand finale. The event, now in its second year, is a gift to the community and an invitation to experience the moving, transformational force of many voices raised together in song.
