W6:Workshop:Explore Color, Adult [SOLD OUT]

One-Day Workshop: August 4 Course Description: This workshop does exactly as its title describes, explore color. This workshop is best suited for an artist, or student, who simply has an interest on focusing on color. The class will review color theory, go on a color hunt in the galleries, and play with color. There will be a demonstration in oil paint and color drawing materials. Students are asked to bring their own art materials of choice, i.e. oil paint, watercolor, color pencil, acrylic paint,… Show more and their necessary accessories. Time is made for a short lunch break. Instructor: Carmella Yager Carmella Yager decided to become an artist when she was eight years old after drawing with her grandmother. She attended the Philadelphia College of Art summer program as a teen, the School of Visual Arts, New York City, and graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, with a Fifth Year Award. Having earned her Bfa from Tufts University, Yager has travelled on scholarship to France and had three of her oil paintings exhibited at the Mfa ('80s). Her paintings are among private and public collections both in the Us and Europe, and she exhibits regularly on the east coast. Yager additionally created two large murals commissioned by Mass. General Hospital ('90s), one of which is twenty-five feet long. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, offers studio art classes and workshops taught by experienced educators who are also professional artists. Students are invited to question, explore, experiment, and solve problems as they create and interact with art. The Museum's collections provide an unparalleled opportunity to study the processes of artists past and present from a variety of cultural perspectives.
