May 9 is Cardiac Arrhythmia Awareness day in the city of Boston. To raise awareness about two serious heart rhythm conditions—atrial fibrillation (AFib)and sudden cardiac arrest (SCA)—the Heart Rhythm Society is hosting a free patient education event. The public is invited to learn about the signs, symptoms and treatment options for AFib and SCA, meet with medical professionals for screening and free risk assessments, and arm themselves with information and tools that could save a life.
