New Zealand native painter and photographer Peter Lyons says he had no formal training in art and spent two years studying physics at the University of Otago. He arrived in the U.S. in 1990. The Boston Athenaeum recently commissioned his new work "Kaleidoscope," which was inspired by the Athenaeum's Fifth-Floor Reading Room. Open to the public; reservations required.
