Boston Musica Viva marks the centennial of Schoenberg’s ‘Pierrot Lunaire’ with a program inspired by the 20th-cent. master. ‘Suite, Op. 29’ for clarinets & piano quartet displays Schoenberg’s playful side. William Kraft’s ‘Settings from Pierrot Lunaire’ (with soprano Sarah Pelletier) sets a different compilation from the Pierrot cycle. Curtis Hughes makes music of political banter in the premiere ‘Verbiage.’ Richard Pittman conducting.
