The music of Albare is not for those charmed by triviality. The Australian who was originally born in Morocco, migrated to Israel, to Lyon, France and then to Australia, convincingly imposes – in a modern jazz setting – the music of his heritages on sometimes languid, sometimes thrusting compositions for jazz guitar. Albare’s latest CD is entitled Long Way. The band features Albare on guitar, Phil Turcio on piano, Phil Rex on bass and Pablo Bencid on drums.
