The Compaq Big Band showcases the power of 14 horns, a cookin’ rhythm section, terrific instrumental soloists, and the incomparable Rebecca Holtz on vocals. The January 9th performance will feature Wayne Bergeron on arrangements from his big band, as well as charts done for Maynard Ferguson, plus vocal selections from the great album with Diane Shuur fronting the Count Basie Orchestra, and much more.

The Compaq Big Band will be hosting a trumpet clinic presented by Wayne Bergeron at Scullers from 5:00pm to 6:00pm the day of this performance. The trumpet clinic is not sponsored by Scullers Jazz Club, and ticketing will be done separately and directly by the band. Please do not contact Scullers regarding the trumpet clinic. The Scullers Jazz Club performance area will be closed to the public from 6:15pm to 7:00pm the day of this event.

Advance tickets for the trumpet clinic will be available for sale on www.compaqbigband.com beginning December 4, 2012.

Tickets for the 8:00pm show are $20 per person (plus any service fee). To purchase them, combined dinner-plus-show packages, or overnight accommodations-plus-show packages, go to www.scullersjazz.com or phone 617.562.4111. Validated parking for the clinic and main show events is $10.

Student tickets are available for $10 per person for the evening show, but can only be purchased by phone at the number above, or at the door if still available at showtime. A valid student ID may be requested upon entry for student ticket-holders.

Advance ticket sales of both show tickets and clinic tickets is strongly encouraged as seating will be limited for both!

The Compaq Big Band has no influence or control over seating assignments for main show seating. The club assigns specific seats based on ticket purchase dates. Seating for the trumpet clinic is General Admission only.

To purchase tickets for the trumpet clinic in advance go to www.compaqbigband.com. We will accept printouts of PayPal receipt emails for proof of advance payment at the door – please remember to bring them.

Tickets in advance for the trumpet clinic are $10 per person for those holding tickets for the 8:00pm show, and $15 per person for those not attending the evening performance. Please bring a printout of your main show ticket purchase receipt from Scullers in order to verify discount eligibility.

The format of the trumpet clinic is lecture-only – please do not bring personal instruments to the club.

In seats remain available for the clinic as of that day, we will sell them for $15 per person when doors open at 4:30pm, accepting cash and checks (made out to “Compaq Big Band, Inc.”) only. We will not accept credit cards at the door - there is an ATM located in the Hilton Doubletree Suites hotel that houses Scullers Jazz Club.
