Chef Charles Draghi’s food isn’t like most restaurant food. It’s lighter, subtler, driven by herbs and warm spices and aromatic-infused liquids; he doesn’t use butter or cream in savory dishes. It draws from Italy, particularly Piedmont, where Draghi’s family has its roots, but it isn’t traditional. The pasta dishes and the wild boar with fermented Concord grapes are wonderful. So are the prices, considering the level of craft here; entrees run $19-$29. (The Boston Globe, 12/10/08)

Once upon a time, bars were for drinking and restaurants were for eating. Beer nuts, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks were the middle ground. Bar food was there for you when you needed it, but you didn’t go out of your way to get it.
