Sanctuary

Is this place 21+? I'm guessing yes...

Skanktuary is what you want from a "club" in Bosotn. New York it's not... and that's a good thing. Go up to the top deck if you want to kick it in lounge chairs or be able to converse. Stay on the main floor if you just want to be in the mix for some good people watching and good tunes. Take it down to the basement if you want to get nasty on the dance floor. It has something for everyone.

I don't understand what the fuss is even if there where a gay night at Sanctuary...some of the most successful bar/club nights are gay nights(RIP Avalon now at Estate)...but, on the other hand I myself have worked at, managed, and was partner of some of the hottest bars and specialty nights in boston in the past 6 years and been in the business 12 years. This place has the whole package. As for the formentioned Rev Rock Bar, Rumor, Venue and District...I am friends with those that run the places and some of the staff that work there and they are very successful as well, but totally different vibe and experience...if you think the lines are gone come talk to me on a sat night at the door because we hit REAL capacity @ approx 11pm on avg not hold the line capacity like other places!

Honestly…I don’t know what all of the excitement is about Sanctuary? It’s pretty much old news. Like any bar on the decline in Boston, it was the “IT” place with a massive line and now it has been replaced with Revolution Rock Bar, and swanky spots like Beehive among many more. Sanctuary is old news with the same old faces. Not a terrible place, but certainly not the hot spot it was 3 or 4 years ago. I wouldn’t watch a game there and if I want to go somewhere for VIP treatment I am getting bottle service at District, Revolution or Rumor. At least there I get line privileges with my 300$ bottle of booze.

I don't know about the gay bar thing...i went there on a sat night, it was ok...not packed, but my friends and i had a ok time. went back the following thursday and it was dead...a few people there...more of an urban crowd. i personally like revolution rock bar better.

as for what bartender14.. has to say about it, i don't know, they seem a little too excited...it's not that great, it's just ok. and people who don't agree with you don't necessarily want to work there... who WANTS to work at a bar??? i would rather be on the drinking side, rather than the working side. it's not that cool.

Not only have I enjoyed going to Sanctuary in the past as well as the present, I more importantly enjoy working there. There are not a lot of bartenders who enjoy, appreciate and respect their place of work like I do. I have worked at some of the best bars in Boston and I can say with confidence that Sanctuary is a great place to go to on any night, especially Friday and Saturday. There are some great bartenders there, including a couple of new ones. The atmosphere is fun and the setting is awesome! Sanctuary does not have a "gay" night, even though a couple of misinformed people listed it as such in previous comments, who in my opinion want to work there, but do not have the skills nor the talent to do so, so they decided to bad mouth it. If you want to go to a bar that is fun, accommodating, professionally managed with a great staff, then Sanctuary is it!

The lines are back to what they were when this place first opened, get there early or book a VIP table.
The absolute best club in the Fanueil Hall area!

I used to go to this bar a while back and it was ok...in the last couple of weeks to a month it has been off the hook...The bartenders there are the hottest in town!

Sanctuary is one of the best clubs in Boston, Thurs, Fri, Sat. Smoking HOT girls, definitely NOT gay!

I also heard this was going to be the newest Boston gay bar.

Sanctuary was great about 2 years ago...I heard it was a gay bar now? The line to get in has virtually disappeared

I used to like this place alot. I guess now it is a gay bar on Thursday and Saturday nights...too bad....
