I come to Sasso a couple of times a week. I like the bar area the bar menu is amazing and the servers are always really friendly. Mike and Casey the bartenders always make everybody feel welcome
The dining room is beautiful and would be great to impress but i like the more casual bar area. Oh yeah and they serve food until 1.30

I ate at Sasso when they first opened I liked it but you could tell they were still having teething problems.I went back with five other people on Saturday to check out the new chef who i hear is excellent and worked at the french laundry restaurant. The atmosphere has changed massive artwork now in the room, much better feel. The food was absolutely outstanding. All six of us were raving about the food. Service was really good. Definitely deserves a higher rating

I host events at different restaurants around Boston. I eat out at all the top restaurants and Sasso is definitely included on that list.As far as I am concerned Sasso is in the same bracket as Aujourd dui, Lespalier, 9 park. They all have different merits however Sasso has phenomenal food and service but they dont have a stuffy atmosphere, everybody is really friendly. The chef at Sasso worked at the French Laundry and it tells in his beautifully presented dishes. I felt I had to write this review because there was a couple of negative reviews on here. I have visited Sasso multiple times with clients and have never received anything but rave reviews from everybody. Go for yourself and see you will not be dissapointed

I like to eat out and a friend told me to try sasso. I have a new favorite restaurant in Boston. The ambiance is really good high ceilings, dimly lit great music very elegant. The server was very friendly and took a lot of time describing the different dishes. I had the pancetta risoto it was amazing and had crispy artichokes on top and fried herbs. for the dinner I had the scllops on the oxtail ragout also amazing. the two people I went with one had the cod and one had the ribeye. Both agreed that it was one of the best meals they have had. We ended up staying and having a couple of drinks at the bar, which became quite busy later at night. The bartender Casey was really amusing and kept us entertained. I am really looking forward to going back and would highly recommend it

The food was good, but the staff is rude and inefficient which made our evening turn out to be a bad experience. Our reservation was not honored. When we were seated, our waiter brought some of our drinks, but forgot one. Same with the salad - he forgot one and we told him not to bother bringing it. Bad mistake since we waited the better part of 2 hours for our entrees. No explaination or concession offered. Nobody around us was being served either. We understand that sometimes stuff happens (we thought the cheif might have quit in the middle of a busy Saturday night), but you can tell when the waitstaff and mgmt. care, and these folks don't. No way will this place last. There are so many other great restaurants in Boston.

My husband and I, along with another couple, recently dined at Sasso. What a great experience...the food was fantastic - we had a charcuterie sampler appetizer; I followed that with a pan-seared striped bass, and our grouped concluded the dinner with a sampling of various desserts. The menu is inventive and inspiring yet simple and seasonal. The wine selection ois thorough and reasonably priced. Our server was efficient, pleasant, and accommodating. I highly recommend Sasso.

My friend and I were looking forward to a lovely dinner and evening this past friday evening. We were in the city early at 5pm coming from the airport. We arrived at Sasso and the hostess began to seat us. My friend requested another table a little off the beaten path.( We were the only patrons in the place since it was 5pm. )The hostess turned around and with a snide tone and eye roll looked as though we asked for the entire restaurant to be closed. She then rolled her eyes again and told us the tables had reservation at 6:30. No offer to give us the table if we were out of there by 6pm. I have never been treated so rudely at a so-called high end restaurant. The menu was way to funky and they were not willing to make basic modifications. Needless to say we walked out due to my friends suggestions. We have been to all the best places in boston from Mistral,Icarus,L'Espalier#9 Park,Radius ect and are always happy and enjoy the expererience. However Sasso was the worst experience we have ever had and would never suggest anyone to visit based on our expererience.

When the Italian restaurant Sasso became Lucca Back Bay a few months ago, here’s what changed: approximately nothing. The location is the same. The restaurant looks the same. The owners are still Ted Kennedy and Matthew and Sean Williams, who also run Lucca in the North End. The menu is largely the same. And the chef is still Anthony Mazzotta.
