My wife and I went Sunday night. Normally this has been a great venue to see a show for us. However Sunday nights crowd was obnoxious and drunk. We sat at table 12 right at the entrance and there were drunk people standing in the aisle not letting folks pass easily. Normally the staff will move people along but this woman just stood there and did not tell anyone to clear the aisle. We watched as the drunk obnoxious guys(5) in the next table( which wasnt even their table, they were sitting in the seats section) staggered away and came back with two beers each! We got to at least ten shows a year and I can honestly say we probably wont be back. The J. Geils Band put on an excellent show however! They sounded great!!

The prvious poster complains about the venue regarding the purchase of alcohol, but most venus require you to provide to forms of ID when you are from out of state. As for seating my wife and I haven't had the bad experience related by the poster. We love this venue! It is a great summer venue for seeing bands. The seating is not that bad for a pavilion venue. It's location on the waterfront of South Boston makes it that much more enjoyable. It is also easy to get to via public transportaion. This is a great place to see live music.

Recently I travelled from my home in Upstate NY to see a concert at the Bank of America Pavillion. There was a group of us New Yorker's and it was one guys 27th birthday in our group. When we got there we found ourselves to be disappointed. Because we are from out of state, apparently this venue requires 2 forms of identification to drink alcohol. Of course, the guy who's 27th birthday it was, only brought his license and cash b/c his wallet has been stolen before. Although he clearly looked over 21, and had his license that said it was his 27th birthday, they still refuse to sell him a completely overpriced $10 beer. I can understand this might be venue policy, however, no where on the website, or on a sign outside of this venue does it state this policy. Of course, after we had entered we could not exit to go to a bar, then return. It was not quite the exciting birthday gift we had hoped to give. If this is venue policy, fine, but have a way of informing ticket purchasers to prepare for this situation.
Also, I wasn't completely impressed with the seating arrangements. We had good seats, which someone was sitting in, and any of the 100's of ushers there, just making sure no one goes up front who doesn't posses a ticket to would not ask them to leave. Overall I would say, unless it's a band I'm in love with, and I got really close seats, I'd skip this venue again, despite its nice view of the harbor .
