Chrissie Hynde
Chrissie Hynde
Since the late '70s, singer/guitarist/songwriter Chrissie Hynde has been the leader of one of rock's most widely beloved bands, the Pretenders. Born on September 7, 1951 in Akron, OH, Hynde was turned on to rock the same way zillions of others did in the '60s -- via such British invasion bands as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, and the Kinks....
Melissa Etheridge
Melissa Etheridge
Began playing guitar at age 8. At age 11, sang a song that she'd written ("Lonely as a Child") in a talent contest. Was seen in concert at a bar in Long Island, CA, by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell in 1986....
Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan
Singer/songwriter Bob Dylan fortunately does not have to rely on his movie career to uphold his reputation as the single most influential rock musician of the 1960s. His best-known movie appearances include the concert film The Last Waltz and documentaries like Don't Look Back ; but Dylan also appeared in other films, making his dramatic debut as a cowpoke named Alias in Sam Peckinpah's Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973), in which he sings "Knockin' on Heaven's Door....
English indie rockers Alt-J, named for the triangle that appears when pressing "Alt" and "J" on a Mac, formed in 2008 under the moniker FILMS. The quartet members, all of whom met at Leeds University, spent two years rehearsing before inking a deal with Infectious Records in 2011....
Charlie Worsham
Charlie Worsham
Country singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Worsham was born September 1, 1985 in Jackson, Mississippi, and music became his main interest at a young age. He started on the banjo, and was good enough on the instrument by the age of ten to play on-stage at the Ryman Auditorium with bluegrass great Jimmy Martin, and at the age of 12, after winning a Junior National Banjo Championship, he played on-stage at the Grand Ole Opry, an accomplishment for a musician at any age....

seats smell bad

BUT it is the best venu to enjoy
music in boston! It has an unbelievable history, gorgeous fresco
ceilings, but it has fallen into
horrible disrepair..the beer soaked
seats don't exactly impress a first date..wear your 'resort clothes' as in last resort...but you will enjoy the music!

The Orpheum is hardly a dump. I went to see Queens Of The Stoneage there, and it was AWESOME! The stage is big, the place is HUGE and the sound was perfect. Beer and food are always expensive at gigs like that, maybe don't drink? The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner, but with the amount of people there, they kept up well.

A dump

The Orpheum is a dump. The place is cramped. The seats are uncomfortable(some are held together by duct tape and wire). The prices for food and beer are outrageous. Considering all the great concerts that have been held there, you would think the owners could spruce it up. It is a filthy hellhole.
