Machiko Agano: Structured Space

Knitting usually involves needles and yarn, but Machiko Agano used nylon fishing line, stainless steel wire, and handmade Japanese kozo paper to loosely knit together her large site-specific works for "Structured Space - An Installation by Machiko Agano." The Japanese conceptual fiber artist was trained as a weaver and used these skills for her ethereal works that integrate light, texture, form, and space to evoke that delicate feeling of air. -- June Wulff, Globe Staff
