Living up to its name, this North Cambridge newcomer breaks the typical sub shop mold by roasting its own chicken and turkey, making its own meatballs, blending its own salad dressings and pesto, and doing much of its own baking. Egg sandwiches include inspired ingredients like tomatoes and blue cheese. Cookies and muffins are spiced with fresh-grated nutmeg. A butter-brushed Reuben ($6.25) is piled with exceptionally lean corned beef. And the funky space — red leather couches, magazine-strewn coffee table, walls painted electric green — encourages customers to stay awhile. (11/8/07, SACHA PFEIFFER)
