Hana Sushi

Hana Sushi has been in the same space in North Cambridge for years. Now under new ownership and completely renovated, it's a serene little space where the new owner, who until recently managed a Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles, brings some LA flair to Mass. Ave. Hana Sushi serves lovely, non-greasy tempura, nigiri sushi composed of generous slices of glistening fish blanketing little pillows of rice, and beautiful and tasty specialty rolls such as the caterpillar (eel and cucumber covered with bright-green slices of avocado) and rainbow (crabstick salad and cucumber centers covered with strips of tuna, salmon, and whitefish). The waitstaff is incredibly friendly (in a good way) and the food is a little burst of sunny California. -- Ann Luisa Cortissoz
