The Colorado Rapids are one of the original charter teams to launch Major League Soccer in the inaugural 1996 season. The club has appeared in two MLS Cup Championship matches and won their first title by claiming MLS Cup 2010 with a 2-1 overtime victory over FC Dallas on November 21, 2010 at Toronto's BMO Field.
