Someone's going to get burned. Can you smoke out the competition? Can't stand the heat? (OK, I'm done.) Also on tap at the fest: a pumpkin carving competition, live music, artists and crafts vendors, and more.

MORE DETAILS:
The Annual Fitchburg Forge-In Blacksmith Festival is the premier fall festival in central New England featuring the Forge-In blacksmith competition and The Great Pumpkin Carve.
The Forge-In is an unusual and fascinating event where artisans in the metalworking industry demonstrate their skills in a live "heated" competition throughout the day. Blacksmiths from all ages, walks of life and culture compete with anvils and forges to win cash and prizes in various categories.
The Great Pumpkin Carve is a wonder to behold after dark as all entered pumpkins are lit and displayed along the Nashua River wall for judging. Cash and prizes are awarded in various age categories. You are invited to bring a carved pumpkin with you that day, or pick a pumpkin, pull up a chair and carve away to your heart's delight (pumpkins and tools are available.)
Complimenting the season and the festival will be artists, hand crafters, and antique dealers with their finest pieces. Live music, seasonal foods, a chance auction and children's activities complete the day.
