Flynnies On The Ave

28 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead, MA, 01945
(781) 639-2100 - Venue Website

In 1996 Flynnies on the Avenue opened its doors to the town of Marblehead. "The Avenue" is the inspiration of meat and potatoes owner Jeff Flynn and vegetarian Chef/ General Manager Louise Moore. The result is a small diverse menu, which changes seasonally.

The Avenue has a cozy friendly feeling with wooden walls and hand painted glass. The photo covered bar area is a popular place to both eat and drink.

Our commitment to giving the customer a warm comfortable dining experience as well as our consistent, creative and flexible approach to cooking has kept customers coming back time and time again.

Stay Away

"I can't say that we were regulars to this place before, but we enjoyed occasional visits to this restaurant for quick lunch or dinner. But we won't be coming to this place EVER AGAIN!!! On Father's Day we decided to opt for this place for dinner. Everything was as usual, casual, friendly. But it turned nasty very quick, when my husband tasted a rotten tomato in his food, and it indeed did not look good, but he did not noticed it before, so, imagine the aftertaste. He mentioned it to the waitress, and instead of at least apologizing, she asked if he wanted 'another tomato'. He said no, and asked to take his plate away, which she did. She did not appeared to have any concerns for bad food she served. Then the manager came and said that it would be taken off from the bill. Again, no sorry, no apologies, nothing you would expect from the place that wants to keep customers happy and satisfied. Some respectable places, would offer a free dessert or coffee, not that we came to get 'freebies', - this place is cheap enough. The dinner was spoiled, my husband did not want any new food to order, and we asked for a bill. We payed but did not leave any tips. It might sound heartless, but a bit more effort on the waitress part and she would end up with good tips from us as usual, but she ignored us and another girl was sent to clean the dishes and collect the payment. And, there were no 'thank you' or 'sorry.' The minute we walked out of the door, the manager and some other employees came running after us screaming insults and profanities (can't use the language I heard in this public review), threatening and daring us not to come ever again at their restaurant. We were appalled, as one should never experience something like this from a place, that caters to their patrons. They almost followed us to the car, screaming and yelling. It was quite scary and it was difficult not to react, as it was happening in front of our children. DON'T GO THERE. Watch out for rude owner or the manager, whoever was on duty that night. Such people don't have any right to work in restaurant business."
