If you want to dine in elegance and be treated to exceptional food with world class service without leaving the 'burbs, travel to Bistro 5 in West Medford, MA.
My fiancee and I decided to give this smaller sized restaurant in the trendy West Medford area a try, and are we ever glad that we did.
We decided that in order to get a greater selection of foods to try we should order the Chef's Tasting Menu with wine pairings. We started out with the crispy tuna and truffled 'grilled cheese' for appetizers and both exceeded both of our expectations. We split a lobster ravioli order that was very tastey. For our entrees we had the scallops and ribeye, both of which were superb. To end our culinary delights we split the strawberry crepe, which was light and satisfying. Every wine pairing was a perfect compliment, and they did not skimp on the portions of food - or wine!
Our server was outstanding with extensive knowledge of both the food dishes and wine list, as well as being incredibly attentive. Chef Vittorio Ettore really cares about his customers and unobtrusively stopped at our table three separate times to make sure we were satisfied with our meals.
Two thumbs way up on this great suburban eatery.

We park in front of the gas station next door, near the West Medford railroad tracks, and walk toward a brick building that has the charisma of an insurance office. On a Saturday night, it looks dark and somber.
But once we slip through the door and around the corner into the dining room, it's clear there is nothing somber about Bistro 5.
