Do we really need a “Thor’’ movie? Not as much as Marvel Comics and its corporate parent, the Walt Disney Company, do. This pre-summer 3-D action entry devoted to Marvel’s hammer-wielding Dude of Thunder is a mere pit stop on the road to the “Avengers’’ film, to be released in May 2012. The new movie comes after “The Hulk’’ and the two “Iron Man’’ movies and precedes “Captain America’’ (due this July), and believe me, you have never experienced a more anal-retentive rollout of a beloved entertainment franchise. Each of the proto-“Avengers’’ movies ends with a post-credits teaser scene that advances the meta-narrative; the one in “Thor’’ had the fan-guy sitting next to me reeling in shock. As a nonbeliever, I’m just antsy for the main event already. Some of us do have lives.
