For six years, the actor Josh Radnor has been playing Ted Mosby on the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.’’ His first big break from the show is a dramatic comedy he wrote, directed, and stars in called “Happythankyoumoreplease.’’ Like his TV job, the movie is generic and shallow in its glimpse of the love and sex lives of a handful of young New Yorkers. But the show continues to create sparks of wit. It’s energetically cut and enthusiastically acted. It’s frequently funny and occasionally brilliant, in matters of how people behave and scheme.
