A Tribute to Paul Butterfield featuring Mark Naftalin and 2120 South Michigan Avenue

Mark Naftalin, keyboard player with the original Paul Butterfield Blues Band in the 1960's, who played on the band's landmark first and second albums, will play with Charlie Sawyer's 2120 South Michigan Avenue in a tribute to that first great Butterfield Band. Mark will open the show with a set of solo jazz and blues piano, and will then join "2120" (with Charlie Sawyer on blues harp, the amazing Tom Wright on guitar) for some real hard-driving Chicago Blues. Butterfield introduced millions of Americans… Show more to urban blues in the 1960's, including at least 3 members of "2120." You don't have to be Born in Chicago to love this music! Charlie Sawyer of 2120 is also a photographer and the author of the Arrival of B.B. King, the first biography of the great blues artist (Doubleday 1980.) At the event, a framed 16x24" print of B.B. King at Boston Arena,(a photo that appears in the book, and in the BB King Museum in BB's hometown of Indianola, Mississippi) taken by Charlie in 1971, will be raffled along with other items, to benefit the Firehouse Center. This just in! There will be a special guest appearance by harmonica wizard, MIKE TURK, who credits Paul Butterfield with inspiring him to learn to play the harmonica.
