Newton's Revolutionary Roots

This talk will explore the relationship between Boston and its rural neighbors, including Newton, during the American Revolution. The leaders of the resistance against Great Britain made a massive effort to mobilize throughout Massachusetts. The Durant family and their community offer an opportunity to see this revolutionary process at work. Benjamin Carp, Assistant Professor of History at Tufts University, is author of "Defiance of the Patriots: The Boston Tea Party and the Making of America".
