BOKX 109 American Prime

Just visited BOKX 109 this past weekend. A group of 8 of us went -- I would definitely suggest reservations -- the place was hopping! It didn't effect our service though... we were taken care of from the time we stepped through the doors. (PS- FREE parking here AND they offer valet service as well!)

Back to our experience. For starters, we ordered the Calamari "Fritto Misto" (?) I think it was called... cooked to perfection and accompanied by the perfect amount of tangy piquillo peppers. We also ordered the "duck fat" fries... a MUST try and crowd favorite, (so we were told by our waiter) ... our table happily agreed with the general consensus... right down to the last bite. (we were served three variations of fries BTW - - I highly suggest the bolder of the fries - loved the spicy version.

As for the entree... I enjoyed the salmon, which was served with collard greens(!), white beans and "karma jitters", which I had no idea what this was, until our waiter informed me that this is a barbeque type sauce made from coffee beans! To my surprise -- quite tasty! I myself cannot vouch for the rest of the entrees, but per the looks of my fellow diner's plates -- they all seem to rank very high. Looking forward to going back to try the prime rib...

Lastly, though we passed on dessert -- I did eye the hemp seed ice cream and cheesecake. Maybe next time!
