Calvin Johnson

Calvin Johnson's greatest contribution to musical history is his founding of K Records, one of the iconic indie labels of the 1980s and '90s. Along with his work as a label head, talent scout, and producer, Johnson spent the decade between 1982 and 1992 with the trio Beat Happening, best known for their much-covered single "Indian Summer." Johnson also worked with the Go Team, Dub Narcotic Sound System, and the Halo Benders before beginning his solo career with 2002's WHAT WAS ME. ~ Rovi
