Freddie McGregor

Born in Calendron, Jamaica in 1956, Freddie McGregor began his singing career at the age of seven, joining with Ernest Wilson and Peter Austin to form The Clarendonians. McGregor recorded the album at Studio One in Kingston and quickly became a protégé of the label’s founder, Clement “Coxsone” Dodd. It wasn’t until the 1980s that McGregor hit international fame with his roots reggae-infused lovers-rock style.
