Beneficent's philosophy is simple: No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here. Come for worship on Sundays, events throughout the week, or talks on various issues hosted in Beneficent's beautiful building.

Founded in 1743, Beneficent has a long history of social justice within Providence and beyond. From American independence to the antislavery movement, racial justice, and care for the poor, Beneficent always has been an activist church, responding to social needs and regularly hosts events that cater to these needs.

Beneficent is a member of the United Church of Christ, the church that tells you to never place a period where God has placed a comma. God is still speaking,
