Eating with the Ecosystem 4: Southern New England

Southern New England's varied ecosystem ranges from the salt marshes and sandy shores of Narragansett Bay and Long Island Sound to the deep offshore canyons on the edge of the continental shelf. This area is a mixing ground for cold-water and warm-water species, making it exceptionally diverse. An array of shellfish -- quahogs, oysters, scallops, crabs, and lobsters -- and a plethora of finfish -- striped bass, fluke, and more -- make this one of the tastiest ecosystems around.
Chef Nemo Bolin grew… Show more up on on the docks of Martha's Vineyard, but seasickness kept him from becoming a fisherman. Instead, he maintains his connection to the water by serving up fresh, local seafood from his kitchen at Cook and Brown Public House.
Join Chef Nemo, a guest scientist (TBD), and a guest fisherman (TBD) for a culinary tour of the waters off our shores. The menu will feature a range of late summer finfish and shellfish landed in Point Judith and Newport, RI.
