I'm sorry that kittykisses had a hard time getting seated, but I would say that this is one of the very few drawbacks to this place--it seems to be always mobbed.
The food was excellent, the service was efficient and good-natured, and the ambience was distinctly more sophisticated than we Quincy-diners are used to.
Check it out, but get there early!

This hidden gem is a great place for excellent food served quickly by attentive wait staff and bartenders. At each visit, the owner has stopped by our table to ask about our meals. I'd go there more often (and you should too), but be prepared to wait. The Fat Cat is small but worth it.

We just had one of the worst experiences at a restaurant ever. My husband, sister, and I went for dinner but left because they never seated us. When we arrived, we gave our name and were told it would be 30-40 minutes. After about 30 minutes, we noticed that couples were being seated who came in after us. One of the bartenders checked for us and told us we would be seated soon. Then two young women next to us at the bar were asked if they wanted to sit at a just cleared high top. They had just walked in. When we went up to the hostess and told her we had been waitng now for over an hour and had noticed couples being seated who had come in after us, she said it was a small place and they had no table for us because they couldn't make people leave. I asked why we weren't asked if we wanted the high top. She told us they only seat two people at them although there are 4 stools. We then decided to leave and were offered a table immediately. We will never go back to this place. They do not know how to treat customers fairly.

Sure, you can grab a plate of chips topped with oozy cheese, salsa, and guacamole at almost any pub or neighborhood joint.
