Geoffrey’s is back! This widely beloved Boston restaurant originally opened in 1990, operating in the South End and Back Bay before closing suddenly in 2003. It recently reopened in Roslindale Square, again attracting crowds drawn to its quality food, modest prices, and monster portions. The menu still emphasizes hearty comfort fare, including meatloaf that’s moist inside and crunchy outside and a grilled pork chop paired with buttery sweet potato puree that tastes like candy. Even fried mozzarella sticks are startlingly good. (Sacha Pfeiffer, Globe staff | June 21, 2007)
