Nothing would help folks get through the workday more easily than a nice, home-cooked meal delivered to the office. Workers in Mumbai (formerly Bombay) know all about it, and with the complex dabbawala delivery system, they get the boost they need.
In this exhibition, 13 artists with connections to the city display a collection of paintings, photographs, and mixed-media inspired by Mumbai. "Ghost/Transmemoir," (right) by Bose Krishnamachari, uses the metal dabba or tiffin cans used for delivery and incorporates LCD monitors that show interviews with some of the city's residents. The museum will celebrate the show with activities July 21, including Bollywood music from DJ Komal Trivedi of WZBC, dance performances, and films.
