Museum mall Hepatitis

I took a trip to Salem for jury duty at Salem district court. I parked at the parking garage the court recommends on my summons. I really had to go to the bathroom before, so I went into the Museum place mall. A man directed me to the restroom. I went down a corridor, where I passed a group of obviously homeless people hanging out outside the bathroom. I really had to go, so I ignored this: big mistake. As I enter the bathroom, spray painted graffiti is everywhere. I move toward the toilet stall, but I see large drops of blood all over the floor. It even splattered onto the wall. I look toward the toilet and see a needle next to it, as well as feces on the toilet seat. I go to wash my hands and find that only a trickle of water comes out of the faucet! And the soap dispenser is empty! One of the homeless men from outside to brush his teeth, and tells me this is the norm. It was being in a third world country. I must add that there are several food service establishments in this mall.

Museum Place Mall

I could not disagree more. For family mall shopping, this is the place to go. Unique stores with great prices and a movie theater with great prices, a coffee shop and less crowds. Love it.

Museum Place Mall

Sadly, the only thing Museum Place Mall seems to be good for is getting in out of the rain.
I say this after visiting Salem for Halloween for over 10 years.
The place can't keep shops in it, there is constant turn over, many shops lie empty.
It would be good as a place for your group to meet, as it has an ajoining parking structure and it is also right across the street from the Visitors Information Center.

One great shop inside the mall is ESSEX PIZZA. Consistantly good pizza, but remember, in October ALWAYS busy!

The theater is many months behind in what it currently shows.

Perhaps the best tourist shop inside the mall is WITCH CITY TEES! It has a large selection of Salem t-shirts, sweat shirts and such--which you can find all over Salem, BUT....it is perhaps the ONLY place in town where you can find HALLOWEEN IN SALEM shirts!

Many good shops & resturants in Salem, even on the very same street, Essex St., but not really inside of Museum Place Mall. Sad because it's a great space on the main drag of the Historic District. It's going to waste!
