Wire Armature Puppets (for Art and Film)

Description:
This class will go through the basics of making a wire armature puppet. Starting with constructing the aluminum armature, every student will design, build, flesh out, sculpt, paint, clothe, and adorn their own puppet using a combination of surprising and inexpensive materials.
Class Goals:
The purpose of this class is to learn how to make puppets for use in DIY stop motion animations using inexpensive and highly available materials.

Instructor Biography:
Alexandre Staples studied animation at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, focusing on Stop Motion Animation. Assembling and working with puppets is part of her every day life, and she's particularly skilled at finding inexpensive solutions to problems posed by a notoriously finicky and expensive process.
