MiniGolf Course Design Challenge

Description:
Get to design and build a part of the first-ever Artisan's Asylum miniature golf course! Nine self-organized teams will each create their own miniature golf hole, designed to be deployed along the aisles and public spaces within the Asylum, covering no more than two 4ft by 8ft sheets of plywood of floor space.
Each team will have one week to build their hole, competing for distinction in the following categories: best mechanical movement, best use of electronics, general finishing quality… Show more and artistic merit, and most fun.
At the end of the build, the golf holes will be placed around the Asylum for a public tournament, in which the participants will rate each hole in the four categories. Winning teams will receive major bragging rights and $200 worth of Asylum class credit to distribute among team members however they like.
The finished holes will be given to the City of Somerville, and will tour the SomerStreets and What the Fluff festivals over the next few months!
Prerequisites:
Participants expecting to use Asylum equipment will have to get trained and or tested in the equipment before being allowed access. The registration fee covers training costs for two team members in basic wood- and/or metalworking, and appointments can be made the Friday night of the kickoff.
Materials:
Wood, Metal, Depleted uranium. Whatever you can imagine. Materials will not be provided by the Asylum, and can be whatever you choose, as long as they pack up into the designated footprint.
Putters and balls will be provided by the Asylum, covered by registration fees.
