Learn how to construct a round storage basket in the manner of the western tribe of the Cherokee Indians. These "double-walled" baskets were originally woven from buckbrush, but we will be using natural and dyed round reed. Some of the eastern band of the Cherokee were relocated to Oklahoma in the 1830s. The western Cherokee developed their own unique style of basket weaving based on both tradition and innovation, with strong, functional designs.
