When Martin Vasquez says his restaurant serves food like his mother used to make, he means it literally. The Mexican dishes that come out of the kitchen at Vasquez's La Siesta Restaurante in Wintrhop are based on food Vasquez and chef Jacinto Pizarro ate while growing up in a small town near Durango. The restaurant's bright, south of the border feel enhances the experiences of eating wonderfully flavorful, chunky salsa and guacamole, and entrees such as enchilada mole poblano, tilapia Veracruz, and chicken poblano. And La Siesta has a full liquor license, so a margarita might be in order. (Ann Luisa Cortissoz, Globe Staff, 06/18/08)
