Motorists passing through Woburn on Route 128 and Interstate 95 can’t miss the enormous yellow and black sign for the Beacon Grille just off Exit 35. Nor should they.

Great food - Very convenient

My dad and I work down the street from one another, and we often do lunch together. We decided to try Beacon Grille, as it is very convenient and we had heard great things about it.

We were promptly greeted by a very pleasant hostess. The atmosphere was very upscale and classy, yet warm and welcoming at the same time. Our server greeted us and was very friendly and extremely attentive throughout our meal. My dad really enjoyed the roasted turkey sandwich, which had homemade stuffing and cranberry sauce. I had the pressed grilled chicken sandwich, which was fantastic.

I learned later that 100 percent of the profits from the restaurant are donated to a Genocide Studies program at Tufts – another reason to eat there.

We were really impressed and we will definitely be back!

Great food and great service!

I tried Beacon Grille for the first time last week and had a great experience. As I’m not a big steak eater, I was pleased to find many lighter options on the menu, including the grilled shrimp salad, which I ordered. It was just the right size for lunch, with perfectly grilled shrimp and some nice asparagus.

My friend raved about the lobster roll, one of the weekly specials, and, as the portion was huge, she took half of it home for her husband.

We’ll definitely be back!

Great service and good for business meetings.

My business is located just up the street from Beacon Grille. This turned out to be incredibly convenient because a very important potential client was arriving from San Francisco. I have dined at Beacon Grille before and knew it was the perfect place to take my client, because of their ability to provide consistent service and five star food. I called a day in advance to reserve a quiet table in the corner, and the host was extremely accommodating. We both ordered the Porterhouse cooked medium which was excellent, as always. I ordered a bottle of Silver Oak Cabernet and asked the waiter to decant it table-side (clients like little touches like that). After that, I could tell the waitress understood our table and knew that this was not exactly dinner with the guys after a softball game. She was attentive to our every need, yet gave us space and was careful not to interrupt us often during conversation. She kept the wines full, refilled waters and cleared and reset the table after each course. It was everything I had hoped for and more. The jury’s still out on getting the account, but the client hinted that he would like to try more of the menu on the next visit. I don’t know if praise can come any higher for a restaurant! I highly recommend Beacon Grille for professional business meetings and dinner with friends/ family.

All form, no substance...

We were greeted at hostess stand by angry waitress saying she'd be right with us after she went to yell at someone. We were careful NOT to trip over the power tools left plugged in across the entrance way. Decor was decent, the lunch- not so much. You would think that a simple appetizer of brie and fruit would at least have fresh fruit but this plate consisted of browning apple, soggy grapes and stale (not crusty) bread. The turkey sandwich, while not real bad, could just as easily come split in half wrapped in cellophane out of a convenience store cooler. One would have expected from the menu and ambiance, it would have at least been hot and served on a really great bread that did not come out of a package. What a disappointment . . .guess when you're the only game in the plaza, you maybe don't have to try so hard???? The service was mediocre, at best.

Good Value, Great Food

Beacon Grille just opened and they are still working out a few kinks, but the service and food are excellent. I have been twice in two weeks and highly recommend the salmon. The steaks are not dry-aged, but they are very good, and affordable. Drinks are also a great value, and there is a good variety of beer. Definitely a higher end restaurant.

Great service, good food.

I enjoyed lunch at the Beacon Grille this past Tuesday with a business associate. The restaurant was more than adequately staffed and service was great. Both the hostess and our server came over to greet us within minutes. While I can't recall their names, they were most pleasant and seemed to have genuine desire to insure that we received the best service possible.

Our meals (stuffed portabella mushroom w/pasta) were flavorful and portions seemed consistent with that of a lunch menu. Room for dessert allowed us the opportunity to try the apple torte and bread pudding, both of which were fantastic!

Definitely a more classy lunch option compared to the Applebee's next door. Looking forward to giving dinner a whirl soon.
