With her new sophomore album, "Revolution," in the Top 10 on the Billboard country charts, Lambert confirms what we suspected all along: She was no flash in the pan after the surprise success of 2007's "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." This show was amazing. Even if you like her music on cd or radio you might be surprised how great she is live. She is easily the best act in country music today. When she comes around to the area again, please do yourself a favor and see her.

I first saw Ran live just before her first album came out, and then around the time of the release of her second.
This young woman is the real deal; she has the whole tool set, from the sensitivity and vulnerability of "House That Built Me" and "More Like Her" to the out and out rockers for which she has earned a reputation. Ran, more than anyone else in country music is carrying on the tradition of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. She alluded to this yesterday evening herself, but is too modest to say it explicitly.
So I came to yesterday evening's concert with high expectations, having played her new third album "Revolution" (surely country album of the year?)repeatedly. Ran met and surpassed those expectations easily.
Seeing Ran headline for the first time, it was thrilling to see how she (deservedly)held the whole audience in the palm of her hand, and to hear the audience singing along on every song.
The set itself was near perfect for me, a mixture of singles and album tracks from the three albums with some great covers sprinkled in. I could have wished to hear a personal favorite, "Desperation", but not if it would have been at the expense of the highlight of the evening for me, her first encore, a beautiful rendition of Willie Nelson's "Crazy", with just Scotty's acoustic guitar as accompaniment. Truly, an unforgettable moment, burned in my heart forever.
I love and respect Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, who I see as the princesses in waiting to Shania's country crossover crown, but Miranda Lambert is the real future of female country music - and that future is not just safe but vibrant in her hands.
Congratulations Miranda on three #1 albums and one album of the year (so far!);
If you ever get the chance to catch Miranda live DO NOT MISS IT.
